DJ David Callum caught the attention of the audience, especially the girls, during the 2012 Bb. Pilipinas Coronation Night held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on April 15, 2012, telecast live in ABS-CBN Channel 2. Aside from #BbPilipinas, DJ Callum also became a trending topic in micro-blogging site, Twitter.
Callum’s DJ name is definitely one that sparks interest. While some people think that Vinimal stands for ‘Vinyl Animal’ (which Callum wishes he thought of), it’s actually a combination of his DJ name from when he played in Thailand: Volta, taken from one of his favorite songs (Forgive him, we’re sure he didn’t know about the Filipina superhero.), and the word ‘minimal,’ for the minimalist music that he was into at the time.
